Welcome to Glenchua.com!

Welcome to my new website! My first blog… I hope I can keep this up! Here you will find my portfolio in both film production and photography. I’ll try to keep it up to date as much as possible. I’ll also keep up to date the different projects I will be working on, such as the 2010 Surrey High School Film Festival my work with MOONLiTE Productions! I’ll also post anything I find interesting relating to my work with the new Canon DSLR video cameras. These cameras really are the future of filmmaking, and I most recently watched the season finale of “House” which was entirely shot on the 5D Mark II. The depth of field was amazing, but you could clearly see how difficult it was for them to get right on focus with some of the shots.

What I love about using the Canon 7D is the face that you can acheieve such a cinematic look in such a small peice of equipment. The camera can easily be set up anywhere, and doesn’t create much attention. The one thing I have found that is tough shooting with a 7D is the fact that its really hard to hold the camera steady. On one of my most recent shoots, I was shooting employees working in a factory, and was not able to bring a tripod with me. Shoooting handheld with the 50mm 1.8 was ridiculously hard.

That’s it for now, but check back for more!
