Here are a couple photos from a photoshoot I did in July. All shot with the Canon 7D, and a 50mm lens. The 50mm 1.8 is by far one of the best investments I have made. I originally was using a Mark II version of the lens, but was lucky enough to pick up a Mark I version with the metal mount off craigslist. Upon comparison, both the lenses are pretty similar optically. The only benefit of the Mark I is the metal mount, and the much better focus ring, especially because I shoot a lot of video with it. It’s amazing, that my Mark I is almost as old as I am, yet is still a beautiful lens, and costs a little bit more on craigslist than the newer Mark II version. This was photoshoot took places on a cloudy day out at Crescent Beach, one of my favorite locations for shooting.
